This vacation certainly has been different. Our nine-month-old is a handful of energy. A load of fun, and it takes a long time for her to wear out. I enjoy visiting Mackinac Island. It is very beautiful. The weather on this trip has been fantastic. When we went to the island it was wall to wall people, crowded shops and the pungent smells of horse urine and excrement mixed with the small of the famous Mackinac fudge wafting from the fudge shops along the main street. Some would say it is back to nature, but I would say it was a really odd paradox; the beauty and awful aroma. We fought our way through the crowds with the stroller, stayed for four or five hours and took the ferry back to St. Ignace.
When we got back to the hotel, we put Madison on the floor and she took off crawling for the very first time. The day before she started saying "Nana." This vacation certainly has brought out the best of our youngest. Cassidy is having a great time too.
