I spent most of last week at a conference. It was good to see friends and much was accomplished. I did catch a small cold that a week later is full blown and nasty. I probably have another day or two and I will be back to normal.
My brother and sister-in-law stopped by for a visit on Saturday. My sister-in-law's uncle passed away and they had travelled back east for the funeral. They stopped by on their way back west. It was really good to see them and I am glad they are doing so well. Their visit was very brief and I wish it could've been longer. The kids really had a great time with them.
I was thinking about the miles that seperate us when (somewhat ironically) yesterday I stumbled across a huge box full of pictures and momentos from my childhood. As I sorted through hundreds of weathered photos, greeting cards and a baby book, I was reminded of one overwhelming thought; Family is the only thing that is meant to be second only to our relationship with God.
The importance of family is one of those things that you know is true - but it is something so easily forgotten.
