From even another Panera Bread in Springfield:
I am just finishing up my notes for tonight's consecration service / bonfire.
All the plans for the service seem to have come together. Go Eric!

I love going to social events where there are games involved (maybe you do not understand - that was sarcasm). However I doubt they would take too kindly to me showing up and doing the bonfire service and then leaving them to their hotdogs and games all before 5pm.

We are going to have a great time. I did hear from God (yes-at Panera). I hand wrote 6 pages of notes (I sure haven't done that in a while). Don't worry, the pages are 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. Any longer would be long-winded.

I am having a good time. Tomorrow (Sunday) is the last day for the youth meeting. I will teach a class in the 11 am service and then preach in the 1 pm service.

Greetings again...From a Panera Bread in Springfield, MO.

Things are going well with the trip. I preached the opening night of the youth revival last night. We had a good service. Everybody responded well. The pastor is out of town for the weekend. I really do not like to preach revivals when the pastor is not in town. The absence of the head shepherd limits the ability of the flock to receive. However, even with him being gone-things went well.

I have been preaching for 20 years (no joke). I have preached in every type of situation imaginable, coast-to-coast and around the globe. The funny thing is I still get antsy (adrenaline) when I am about to preach. I never want to lose that.

Anyway, after service I went to eat with my brother and sister-in-law along with another couple in the church. We had a great time.

Today: We are supposed to go out to the property that the church owns for a youth outing. It will be a time of softball, kickball and games followed by a consecration service (with a bonfire) that I will lead. It should great. Yesterday we drove up onto the property; the grass was about 2 to 3 feet tall all across the 50 acres of property (I have a picture of my brother walking the lot - I will post it later). I seriously hope that someone is mowing today. I think I will go and get some mosquito repellent.

My brother hard at work Posted by Picasa

Hello everybody. I am in Springfield, Missouri to preach a youth revival. I am really excited about that.
My dad and step-mom and their family live about 30 miles from here (just outside of Branson), and I am staying with my brother and sister-in-law at their home. I will preaching at the church where they all go and where my brother is the youth pastor: IT'S A MISSOURI FAMILY REUNION!

I arrived in town Wednesday night / Thursday morning after a grueling 10+ hour trip in a rental car. Cool detail about the rental car: There was an auxiliary plug in the front of the radio/cd player in the dashboard to plug in an MP3 player.

Thursday: I was up by 7am planning to get some district work done. My dad walked through the door at 8am (I was expecting him in the afternoon). I guess he is really glad to see me.

We spent the day just hanging out: going to Bible book stores, restaurants and visiting their church. In the afternoon I took a much need nap (only 3 hours of sleep the night before). In the late afternoon we drove to Branson for the drama, the Shephard of the Hills. It is based on the Harold Bell Wright book of the same name. This is my 3rd time seeing the drama in the past 30 years. It still moves me.

During the late night drive back to Springfield I listened to the new Hillsong project: God He Reigns. Wow. It is solid and very passionate, with tunes that stick in your head long after the song ends.

Today: I worked in the church office on district projects. I am planning to spend this afternoon getting ready for the service tonight.

Ciao'
