We had a family night out tonight. My oldest daughter received a Student of the month award from her school - and we took some time to celebrate.

On one tremendous note, we were walking into the local Barnes and Noble and we noticed an elderly couple walking into the store and the gentleman actually held the door for my daughters. When he turned around I recognized him. It was John Glenn and his wife. I actually had a WOW moment. I actually got to see one of the original Mercury 7, the first man in orbit and the oldest man to ever fly in space. I did not have the nerve to bother him - but I should have at least thanked him.

The days of heroes are just about gone, I am just glad that in my childhood there were men like John Glenn to set our sights on what mankind is capable of.
